Dr Sara Miller is an analytical-physical chemist in the Dodd-Walls Centre for Photonic and Quantum Technology (DWC) and the Department of Chemistry at the University of Otago. Dr Miller’s research expertise is in spectroscopy and multivariate analysis and its application to a wide variety of materials and systems including (but not limited to) pharmaceutics, hard tissues, soft tissues, harakeke fibres, and primary produce/foodstuffs. Her current research has particular emphasis in applications relating to pharmaceutical assessment and medical diagnostics fields.
Dr Miller is also recognised for her contributions to the wider chemistry community such as her involvement in public outreach activities, her leadership role as Chair of the UNESCO International Day of Light NZ committee, her involvement in the DWC Science Team and as the Early Career Representative on the NZIC Otago Branch Committee.
