Sarah Gaze holds an MEd and GradDipTch from the University of Waikato and a BSc from Massey University, and has 16 years of experience as a senior secondary school chemistry teacher. Sarah has developed and shared a wealth of teaching and learning resources, establishing a website in 2011 to share and distribute secondary school teaching resources including comprehensive sets of student notes, powerpoints for teacher presentations, and electronic workbooks for study and revision. These resources have been particularly valuable during the Covid lockdowns during which time Sarah provided more than 200 schools with ready-to-teach digital resources, and are also incredibly helpful for non-specialist or new teachers in geographically isolated schools.
Sarah has a particular interest in environmental issues such as climate change and has been involved in the research behind, and the development of, a number of context-based teaching resources in this area, in conjunction with both the University of Auckland and the University of Waikato, the latter of which utilises her teaching resources for the pre-service teacher training program. Sarah has also been involved in MoE contract work, through University of Waikato, to develop resourcing in preparation for the new Curriculum.
Sarah has been very generous with her time and expertise, and produces a wealth of high-quality resources that teachers continue to use and adapt.
