We seek an experienced tertiary chemistry educator to contribute to the support, development and growth of our undergraduate chemistry laboratory programme. This position will involve all aspects of the organisation and delivery of lab sessions that are part of our chemistry programme, with a focus on introductory (100-) level courses. It will include working with demonstrators to ensure the efficient delivery of the lab component of our courses, and offers opportunities for the development of lab-teaching practices according to modern pedagogical standards.
The School of Chemical and Physical Sciences is committed to excellence in teaching and student support. As a Senior Tutor you will demonstrate awareness of the academic and wellbeing support needs of undergraduate students, and have excellent interpersonal, communication and team working skills. You will demonstrate contributions to effective undergraduate teaching in the laboratory. You should also have a good understanding of developments and trends in university level learning and teaching methods. With these skills you will enhance the effectiveness of teaching practices within the School.
