Askin Eldiven

I am a PhD candidate in Chemistry at the University of Canterbury, specialising in ionic liquids and their applications in electrochemistry. My research builds on a strong foundation in battery technology and materials science, developed through collaborations with international partners including BASF, BMW, and Fraunhofer ICT. Having worked and studied across Germany, Japan, and New Zealand, I am passionate about connecting science across borders. Alongside my research, I enjoy mentoring students, contributing to the NZIC Canterbury committee, and engaging with the wider scientific community.

Being part of NZIC has connected me with a vibrant community of chemists, provided opportunities to share and refine my research on ionic liquids, and inspired new ideas through invaluable insights, collaborations, and cultural exchanges at events.
