Announcing the 2025 Prize Winners
It is my pleasure to announce the winners of the 2025 NZIC prizes and awards. The selection panels and NZIC Council were very impressed by the quality of all the nominations, and their many achievements and contributions to chemistry. A big thank you to the sponsors of these awards and prizes. We are enormously grateful to you for making these awards possible. NZIC Conference 2026
The NZIC 2026 conference organising committee invites you to set aside Sunday 15th - Thursday 19th November 2026 to join us in Kirikiriroa Hamilton. We're aiming to build a diverse programme weaving together all aspects of the chemistry 'life cycle'. Sessions will be hosted on the beautiful University of Waikato campus.
6th Commonwealth Chemistry Posters Event
The 6th Commonwealth Chemistry Posters Event will take place online from 1-2 October 2025. This event is free to attend and will take place over 2 days to accommodate the different time zones across the Commonwealth and allow participants the opportunity to interact with each other. .
Early career chemists who want to present a poster and live flash presentation must submit an abstract by (midnight) GMT on 11 August. For more information click here.
2025 AGM
The 2025 AGM will be held at 4pm on Wednesday 18 June via Zoom.

Pacifichem 2025
Abstract Submission is open for Pacifichem 2025 and will close on 02 April. Pacifichem 2025 will be an 'in-person' only event with nearly 300 symposia. The registration fee includes access to all scientific sessions, attendance at the Plenary Lecture, Opening Ceremony, Opening Reception, Poster Sessions, and use of the shuttle buses between Congress venues. Member registration fees are available for members of Sponsoring and Official Participating Organisations. For this congress, there is a student research competition. Eligible candidates must be undergraduate or postgraduate students on or before April 2, 2025 and information about the student research competition will be sent to all eligible students after abstract submission has closed.

PCCP Emerging Investigator Lectureship 2025 – open for nominations
Nominations are open for the 2025 PCCP Emerging Investigator Lectureship Award to recognise and support an emerging scientist working in physical chemistry, chemical physics or biophysical chemistry. The recipient will receive £1000 to cover travel and accommodation costs to attend and present their research at a leading international conference in 2025. In addition, selected nominees will be invited to submit to the 2025 PCCP Emerging Investigator themed collection.

Ferrier Lecture 2025
Professor Cristina De Castro
"The sweet, the sour, and the spicy sides of microbial glycans"
Professor De Castro’s presentation will highlight the relevance of structural chemistry of carbohydrates in different areas and cover a range of interesting examples, including ‘sweet’ glycans that exist in bacteria from the gut microbiota, ‘sour’ glycans that enable pathogens to elude immune surveillance and ‘spicy’ glycans, whose discovery has triggered many open points in glycobiology.
